Here I Am...

I remember when I was getting ready to come to college, I had no idea where I wanted to go let alone what I would major in when I got there. All I knew was that I wanted to make it big. I have been fascinated with the Entertainment Industry since I was young. I knew I wanted to be in it in one way or another. I have acted, sang... If it is Entertainment related, you name it,. I have done it. At least I almost had Step One. I knew (in general) what I wanted do do. At college, though, you can't major in being famous. So I still had a little bit of work to do.

I have come to realize recently, looking back and when discussing what I am going to do with my life with others, that choosing a major may not be as much about picking one as it is about picking which ones you don't want to do. Math? I don't think so, even though it is my favorite core subject. English? NO. Science? Yeah, I don't think so... Same goes for History and anything else like it. I knew I wanted something fast paced, mainstream, that could be used in many different ways, and that would get me where I wanted to be. That left me with Business and Mass Communication.

While at first choosing Business seemed so easy and safe, I realized in perfect time that Mass Comm was so much more up my alley. The Entertainment world is not just movies and music. It is actors and singers who need people behind them. They need managers and marketers, and most interesting to me, publicists. Best of all, the major is very broad and there are many things I could do with it in addition to those more specific. I feel great that I ended up in a major that I love so much. I enjoy it every day. It really seems true that though some things must carefully thought and planned out, you sometimes fall into great things. Here I am...
